Over the years the British Royal Air Force has been closely linked with the RJAF. For the first few years of its existence there were British commanders and instructors and later advisors. Close ties still exist with the UK and although the Air Force does not have British aircraft many attend courses there.

In the sixties Pakistan Air Force pilots came to Jordan to instruct and advise (and even take part in combat with the Israeli Air Force) and RJAF pilots still attend courses in Pakistan.

The RJAF has been equipped, over the years, with British, American, French and Spanish aircraft and there has been close co-operation with all of these countries.

Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Oman and the Gulf States have been closely linked with the RJAF at various times through secondments, training courses and exercises. The RJAF trains many students from Arab and friendly nations in various fields including flying.

The Air Force participates in regular exercises with USAF, RAF, French AF, Italian AF, Egyptian AF, Turkish AF and invites observers from other countries to attend, which has included the Republic of China, Oman, Qatar, UAE and Egypt, Malaysia and Indonesia. The RJAF has exchanged pilots with the UK, USA, Pakistan and Turkey.
