"I am an ambitious person and like to be challenged, so
it was the perfect chance for me to prove myself, and
my family was supportive" she says, also commending
the support she receives from her brothers in arms and
superiors.
In return, Lara, who aspires to become an attack
helicopter pilot, had been to King Hussein Air College
on a mission of support to would-be RJAF pilots.
According to the RJAF Commander, the main challenge
for their superiors is how to assimilate them smoothly
into a new culture and a highly demanding and
challenging environment.
He said: "I visit them [female student pilots] and have
a causal talk with them, as a mentor, as well as the
Air Force commander. They now understand that it
is a different life and that they have my full support,
administratively and morally".
