No 26 Squadron

Located at King Abdullah II Air Base, this helicopter squadron operates the MI-26, the largest ever helicopter designed for heavy lifting. It is part of the Quick Reaction Force designated to the base.

The Russian-made helicopter is 40m long and 11.6m high, with 11,400 horsepower. It can carry 82 passengers, while its cargo capacity is 20 tons and it can lift 20 tons.

The multi-task giant can be turned into a 60-stretcher mobile hospital and when used to extinguish fire, its bucket can carry 15,000 liters of water and the same quantity of fuel in special tanks when used for the purpose of fuel supplying.
