Public Security Wing

The Public Security Wing was established in 1989 for various missions, ranging from patrolling and air photo to search and rescue, natural disaster aid, traffic control, VIP transportation, carrying a light assault team (2-3 persons), dropping operations, sniper operations, search for criminals and live transmission to ground
stations.

The RJAF provides the wing, which is based in King Abdullah I Air Base in Amman, with pilots qualified to fly the German-made EC-635T2, a light multi-purpose helicopter. For police work purposes, the chopper can be supplied with a rescue winch, external rope down device and an air photo camera.

The EC-635T2 helicopter has the capacity to carry five passengers, in addition to two pilots.
